Step 1 of 2

Flow domian:
In a flow domain, we study the details inside the flow field and apply differential equations of fluid motion to every point in the flow region.

Step 2 of 2

Control volume:
A control volume is also called an open system. We study the entire part instead of the details inside. And a control volume allows mass to flow in and out across boundaries. Forces, speeds are applied to the entire volume.
