Air enters a nozzle steadily at 2.21 kg/m3 and 30 m/s and leaves at .762 kg/m3 and 180 m/s. If the inlet area of the nozzle is 80 cm2, determine a) the mass flow rate through the nozzle, and b) the exit area of the nozzle.

a)Inlet Area = 80 x 10^-4 m²
Volumetric flow rate (Inlet) = 30 x 80 x 10^-4 m² = 24 x 10^-2 m³/s
Mass flow rate = 2.21 kg/m³ x
 24 x 10^-2 m³/s = .5304 Kg/s

b) As Mass flow in = Mass flow out
===> A1 x V1 = A2 x V2
=====> . 762 x 180 x A2 = .5304
=====> A2 = 38.67 cm²
